The Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Financial Manager to oversee the preparation and review of accurate, timely, and compliant financial accounting across all entities, including at consolidated Group level. Reporting to the Finance Director: Financial Controller & Treasury.
The Financial Manager is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions across the Group. The role ensures accurate intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with applicable IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
This position plays a key role in driving operational efficiency through the standardisation, optimisation, and automation of accounting processes. It is also responsible for maintaining a robust internal control environment, ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and legal requirements, and supporting effective risk management practices across the Group. In addition, the Financial Manager supports tax compliance and transfer pricing obligations where applicable.
A core component of the role is to lead, develop, and manage the finance team by fostering a high-performance culture through effective coaching, training, and performance management. Ultimately, the role is critical in safeguarding the integrity of the Group’s financial records, enhancing the quality and reliability of financial reporting, and enabling informed business decision-making.

Responsibilities of the Role
- Support the Finance Director: Financial Controller & Treasury in overseeing financial accounting activities and maintaining a robust internal control environment.
- Lead and manage the finance operations team, including the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions.
- Oversee corporate cash management, cash flow forecasting, and capital deployment to ensure that all financial obligations are met on a timely basis.
- Ensure that all balance sheet accounts within scope are reconciled monthly, with any reconciling items, anomalies, or risks investigated, resolved, and appropriately reported.
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across the AR, AP, and Treasury functions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.
- Review month-end activities across the AR, AP, and Treasury teams to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of month-end processing.
- Perform a second-level review of all cost of sales entries and provide meaningful analysis and commentary on material fluctuations.
- Review all intercompany and related-party billings across the Group’s legal entities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal and statutory requirements.
- Support the AR Lead in the collection of overdue invoices and assist in resolving aged receivables where required.
- Review fixed asset registers and monthly depreciation calculations to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist with the implementation of changes in accounting policies and the adoption of new or revised IFRS standards.
- Review monthly payroll processing and related journal entries, including leave pay provisions, payroll journals, and salary capitalisation journals.
- Support the annual Group audit, tax audits, and BEE audits, including the preparation and review of schedules and supporting documentation across relevant entities and regions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, building strong technical capability and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular performance discussions, including quarterly training sessions and monthly one-on-one meetings, to monitor KPIs, provide coaching, and support professional development.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and ongoing learning within the finance team.
- Support the delivery of ad hoc finance projects and strategic initiatives in collaboration with the broader finance team.

Requirements of the Role
- Bachelor’s Degree: majoring in Finance and/or Accounting.
- Postgraduate Qualification: CTA/Honours in Finance and/or Accounting
- Professional Designation: CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA,
- At least 5 years’ experience in a related finance position at a Management Level
Work Experience
- Exposure to accounting, finance and taxation.
- Exposure to consolidation and reporting in a multi-currency / multinational group environment
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV/ Business Central and US GAAP experience would be an advantage
- Experience in creating and maintaining complex spread sheets.
- Experience in Managing a Team.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
- Strong understanding of cross-functional business processes
- Advanced accounting expertise (IFRS & GAAP)
- Knowledge of international tax, regulatory frameworks, and transfer pricing
- Advanced analytical skills, including financial modelling and forecasting
- Proficiency in ERP/reporting tools (TM1/Cognos, Power BI) and system implementation
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to streamline financial processes and group consolidations
- Strong risk management and modelling capability
- Ability to translate financial models and data into insights for senior management
