The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to join our Global Recruiting team and help scale our engineering, product and GTM organization in India and APAC. This is a high-impact role focused on full-cycle recruiting for deeply technical roles across our cloud infrastructure and SaaS product teams.
You’ll collaborate closely with leaders across the business, using market insights, recruiting analytics, and a deep understanding of our culture to guide hiring decisions that align with our long-term goals.
You Will
- Own the full-cycle recruiting process primarily for R&D roles, with selective support across G&A and GTM, from intake to close, ensuring a best in class candidate and stakeholder experience.
- Design creative sourcing strategies that blend AI-enabled tools, automation, and your recruiter instincts to uncover and engage diverse, high-caliber talent.
- Act as a trusted talent advisor, providing market data, compensation insights, and strategic guidance to leaders (including VP+) Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting Operations and Programs, HRBPs, FP&A, and Legal to ensure alignment and operational excellence across the hiring process.
- Apply equitable hiring practices and thoughtful sourcing strategies to ensure fair evaluation processes and a strong, values-aligned talent pipeline.
- Leverage data and insights, analyzing recruiting metrics like pipeline conversion rates, time-to-fill, and sourcing effectiveness, to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Leverage and continuously optimize our AI-enabled sourcing, screening, and automation tools to enhance efficiency, improve candidate engagement, and streamline operational workflows, while identifying opportunities for thoughtful experimentation and improvement.
- Immerse yourself in our teams and culture by attending team meetings, offsites, and events to build strong cross-functional partnerships and represent Cockroach Labs as a strategic talent advisor aligned to business outcomes.
The Expectations
- In your first 30 days, we want you to learn about our product and teams inside and out. To attract top talent, you need to have a deep understanding of what makes our company special and exciting from both a people and a product standpoint. We encourage you to become involved in formal conversations like team meetings and find informal meet-greet opportunities to get to know your client groups across R&D, Product, G&A and GTM. Your job during this time is to be a sponge!
- By 60 days, you will have a strong grasp of our recruiting processes and tools. You will have shadowed recruiter screens and observed Kick-Offs, Hiring Committee Reviews after completing onsite interviews. You will have worked alongside the team during their sourcing efforts to understand the tools and resources we use to engage candidates. Working with the hiring leaders, you’ll understand our current and future headcount and identify key focus areas going forward.
- After 90 days, you’ll be fully integrated into the team. You will have taken over the process for some of our existing roles and lead your first-of-many hiring kick-offs for new roles. You’ll focus on the efficiency of our recruiting process and identify areas for improvement for our interviews. You may have your first candidate(s) coming onsite for interviews and will be meeting regularly with key stakeholders within the R&D, Product, G&A and GTMorganizations to ensure recruiting needs are being addressed.
You Have
- 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience within high-growth technology or enterprise SaaS companies.
- Proven success recruiting across Engineering, Product, G&A and GTM roles.
- Deep knowledge of diverse talent landscapes across Engineering, Product, G&A and GTM, with a strong track record of closing niche-senior searches. Brings talent insights into compensation benchmarks, talent mobility, and hiring trends, helping to inform strategic decisions and offers to your stakeholders.Strong sourcing capabilities and fluency in modern recruiting tools (e.g., Gem, Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.) Experience leveraging AI or automation tools to streamline the recruiting process is a plus.
- Experience building and executing structured interview processes, competency-based evaluations, and scalable recruiting frameworks.
- Deep expertise in India’s technical talent landscape, including compensation structures, notice periods, mobility patterns, and competitor hiring activity, with the ability to translate market intelligence into data-driven hiring and offer strategies.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with a consultative, data-informed approach.
The Team
Reporting to Tanul Jain - Sr. Manager, Recruiting, APAC
Tanul is a seasoned Talent Acquisition Leader with over 15 years of experience building and scaling high-performing teams across startups, product companies, and large global organizations. In her previous role Tanul worked with a cybersecurity startup- Cyware where she led their hiring for India.
Previously at VMware and Infosys, she worked on driving hiring efficiency through data-driven processes, and championed initiatives around diversity, cost optimization, and recruiter productivity.
Passionate about leveraging technology to elevate the recruiting experience, Tanul focuses on creating scalable, candidate-centric strategies that balance speed, quality, and impact. She stays in Bangalore with her son and her husband.
