Couchbase, founded in 2009, is a NoSQL database company. We provide Capella, a developer data platform for critical applications. Capella combines transactional, analytical, mobile, and AI workloads into a fully managed solution, helping customers build and scale applications with performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency across cloud and edge environments.

Our offerings include a NoSQL cloud developer data platform that supports AI-powered applications. Our AI services enable the creation of enterprise-grade Gen AI applications, including RAG-powered agents and real-time analytics. The platform features hyperscale vector indexes and provides operational services like ACID transactions, key-value data, SQL++ query, GSI indexing, text search, geo search, vector search, and eventing. Mobile services support AI-powered mobile apps with SQL, built-in sync, and on-device vector search. Analytics services are designed for real-time JSON data analysis with zero-ETL ingestion and natural language SQL++ queries.

Capella serves as a single solution for multiple database types, including key-value, JSON, SQL, hyperscale vectors, text and geo-search, graph, time series, and eventing. It can be deployed as DBaaS, on Kubernetes clouds, on premises, at the edge, or on mobile devices. For example, Couchbase 8.0 includes vector search, encryption at rest, and AI framework integrations.
