Commonwealth Fusion Systems

Founded in 2018, we are an energy technology company that develops and builds commercial fusion power plants. Our mission is to deliver clean fusion energy for the global energy transition away from fossil fuels. We use high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets, developed with MIT, to build smaller, lower-cost tokamak fusion systems. We manufacture these magnets and are building SPARC, the world’s first net energy fusion machine that’s relevant for commercial use. SPARC will pave the way for ARC, the world’s first fusion power plant. We aim to deliver cost-competitive, clean fusion energy to address climate change and have raised over $2 billion to support these efforts. We work with policymakers and suppliers to make fusion energy available globally.
