Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. Job purpose
This role supports Cytokinetics European Countries across all functional areas and is responsible for procuring goods and services at the Country level. The Sr. Procurement Operations Specialist (Contract) is accountable for working with internal and external partners to optimize purchasing activities and assessing and communicating challenges, risks, opportunities, and decisions with skill and diplomacy.
Responsibilities
- Provides oversight of externally contracted activities at the Country level; demonstrates ability to engage technically, operationally and commercially to enable Procurement activities.
- Solicits and analyzes requests for proposals, negotiates contracts, and ensures contract objectives are realized (savings, SLAs, etc.); ensures compliance with pricing agreements and internal policies/procedures.
- Performs administrative tasks including initializing purchase orders and management of document flow between various functions related to RFIs, RFPs, and contracts (e.g. MSAs, Work Orders, Change Orders, Consulting Agreements, etc.)
- Gains proficiency in Linksquares, responsible for input and oversight of document workflow in the legal contract system.
- Responsible for tracking all vendor contract requests, providing regular follow-up to ensure timely approval, and maintaining vendor documentation.
- Manage purchasing activities to ensure goods are within delivery, quality, compliance, and pricing parameters.
- Manage supplier relations and performance, including vendor selection, vendor set up, pricing negotiation, invoicing, returns/credits, and on-time delivery.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to purchasing with a goal of maximizing efficiency and optimizing workflow.
Qualifications
- Minimum BA/BS / University Degree
- 7+ years of experience of supply chain / purchasing / procurement experience
- Experience using an ERP system (Oracle Fusion preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in electronic contracts management systems
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with all levels of management and personnel
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a timely manner
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Demonstrates ability for problem-solving in collaboration with internal and external contacts
- Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; professional manner
- Strong organizational and planning skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Able to work independently while exercising initiative, flexibility and good judgment
