About the position
As an Engineering Projects Manager reporting directly to the CTO, you will assist the CTO drive execution of engineering actions and initiatives across departments. You will ensure alignment between Product and Engineering while providing the CTO with operational visibility, prioritisation support, and delivery control. You must be able to deliver in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and demonstrate structured thinking in order to define, track and execute delivery plans.
Main Responsibilities
Coordinate cross-departmental alignment and execution, translating strategy into delivery plans, and ensuring engineering initiatives materialise.
Carry out technical and commercial research of interest to the CTO, e.g. emerging technology trends in the market, new trends in engineering development workflows, etc.
Work closely with the CTO in furthering the company’s AI-enabled approach to the Engineering R&D and SDLC workflows.
Identify gaps, streamline processes and advise the CTO on how to improve operations and the efficiency of the Engineering departments and DeepSea in general.
Work with the CTO, Engineering Directors and Product to organise project timelines, product releases, deliverables and owners, track progress, report/raise flags and ensure timely execution.
Assist in documenting and maintaining important technical information, project documentation, technical reports and investigation results.
Prepare documents and presentation materials reporting the progress of ongoing projects for internal (C-Level) and external stakeholders.
Track spending against budget lines and raise flags.
Ensure meetings are properly planned and executed, including preparing/receiving agendas and necessary materials ahead of time, taking meeting notes and action points, and organising or following up on meeting actions.
Requirements
Main Requirements
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of experience as a software engineer, data engineer, AI/ML engineer or solutions architect.
5+ years of experience as a technical manager, engineering projects manager, technical program manager or technical product manager.
Experience with AI tools and AI-enabled workflows in engineering and product development.
Excellent communication skills with Engineers, Directors and C-Level.
Demonstrable experience in translating engineering plans into engineering activity, delivery and clear executive reporting.
Demonstrable experience in multi-disciplinary engineering project management including resource allocation, dependency management, delivery roadmaps, risk mitigation, and milestone tracking, with clear executive reporting.
Demonstrable experience in cross-departmental coordination, alignment of technical and business priorities, conflict resolution and issue escalation.
Demonstrable experience with Agile development (Scrum / Kanban) practices and tracking tools (e.g. Jira / Confluence).
Understanding of software architecture principles and cloud-based SaaS products.
Nice to have
Familiarity with data engineering, AI and ML techniques.
Familiarity with microservice architectures, APIs, queuing mechanisms, cloud platforms, data platforms, cluster orchestration, CI/CD, experimentation frameworks and AI/ML pipelines.
