Role: Operations Analyst - Settlements
Location: Kuala Lumpur (Hybrid)

Role Overview:
The role of the Analyst is to ensure the timely and accurate settlement of cashflows of Equity Derivatives trades on behalf of our client. This involves both individually conducting pre-settlement checks and affirmation of the cashflows with counterparties, identifying and resolving any issues that may prevent timely and settlement, as well as monitoring that the team is performing the same.
The settlements function also serves as a layer of control where booking issues such as incorrect economics (wrong direction, currency, index, notional, counterparty, etc.) are detected, escalated, and resolved. To this end, the senior operations analyst is expected to ensure the timely settlement of the cashflow and at the same time identify these risks, fully observing the procedures and policies of the function, both as an individual allocated specific work and as a supervisor of the activities of the team.
This role reports into the settlements manager, with supervisory responsibilities shared by the senior operations analysts.
Core Responsibilities:
Affirmation of cash flows with counterparties and performing all pre-settlement checks (trade economic details, standard settlement instructions, etc.), and execution of the cash flows accurately.
Timely identification and escalation of issues that may delay the settlement of cash flows and create exceptions.
Addressing all requests received from our internal and external clients in a timely manner
Adhering to all policies and procedures.
Supporting the control initiatives and programs of the Control, Compliance, and Management team.
Investigation and resolution of settlements exceptions
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required
Knowledge
Trade Life cycle – booking, resets, fixing advices, settlements, funding, reconciliations.
Calculation/verification of interest cashflows.
Prior Swift messaging knowledge/understanding is beneficial (MT103, MT199, MT202, MT202COV, MT299, MT101).
(Standard) Settlements Instructions.
Currency cut-offs and regulations.
Understanding of confirmation documents – electronic and paper.
Familiarity with ISDA definitions.
Familiarity with market standards related to settlements.
Cash management and funding requirements.
Understanding of accounting workflow (Nostro and Suspense) beneficial.
Business communication (verbal and written)
MS Office suite, especially Excel.
Financial markets – general principles and products of the markets.
Experience
At least 1-2 years of experience in treasury operations and settlements experience preferred.
Payments, reconciliations and/or cash management experience
High pressure operations environment.
Ability to maintain focus while working within a dynamic, high-volume environment
Prior Murex/Calypso/Summit knowledge beneficial
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Business, Management, Finance and Accounting graduates or equivalent preferred.

Expectations regarding hybrid working: As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the clients’ offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our clients’ policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our clients now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require.
