Client Onboarding Product Analyst

🇦🇺 Australia - Remote
🚀 Product🔵 Mid-level

Job description

Description

Role Overview

The Client Onboarding Product Analyst plays a vital role in the delivery squad, acting as the primary translator between business needs and technical execution. Reporting to the Client Onboarding Product Owner, you will focus on the detailed elaboration of requirements, data analysis, and the maintenance of rigorous Agile Ways of Working.

While the Product Owner defines the “What” and the “Why,” you are responsible for defining the “How.” You will ensure that the backlog is healthy, requirements are crystal clear, and that governance standards are met before development begins.

Role and Responsibilities

Support Governance & Agile Practices:

  • Backlog Hygiene: Act as the gatekeeper for Jira quality. Ensure all User Stories meet the “Definition of Ready” (DoR) by having complete descriptions, acceptance criteria, and attached wireframes before Sprint Planning.

  • Documentation Stewardship: Maintain the “living documentation” in Confluence. You are responsible for updating functional specifications, data dictionaries, and process flows to reflect real-time changes.

  • Monitor Jira hygiene to ensure accurate reporting. You will track that tickets are moved correctly through workflows and that all necessary compliance fields are populated to support audit trails.

  • Ceremony Support: Assist the Scrum Master and PO in facilitating refinement sessions by preparing data and context for the developers beforehand.

Requirements Engineering & Delivery Support:

  • Requirement Translation: Break down high-level Epics provided by the Product Owner into atomic, detailed User Stories. You will write the specific Acceptance Criteria

  • Data Analysis: Perform detailed data mapping for integrations (e.g., Fenergo to Core Banking). You will identify exactly which data fields need to move, their format, and validation rules.

  • UAT Coordination: Support the “UAT & Verification” phase by writing test scenarios, triaging bugs raised by business users, and validating that fixes meet the original requirements.

  • Defect Triage: Analyze production issues to determine if they are bugs or new feature requests, providing the PO with the data needed to prioritize fixes.

Process Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Process Mapping: Create detailed “As-Is” and “To-Be” process maps (using Visio/Lucid) to identify friction points in the current onboarding journey.

  • SME Workshops: Lead working sessions with Subject Matter Experts (AML, Credit, Ops) to extract specific logic rules and edge cases that the Product Owner may not have uncovered.

  • Impact Analysis: Before a change is prioritized, assess the downstream impact on other systems and reporting, ensuring no regression issues occur.

Requirements

Skills and Experience:

As a Product Analyst, you are expected to be detail-oriented, inquisitive, and structured with at least 5 years experience.

You will have the following core competencies:

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to dig into complex data and workflows. You don’t just accept requirements; you challenge them to understand the root cause.

  • Documentation Excellence: Expert proficiency in Jira and Confluence. You take pride in creating tickets and pages that are easy for developers to understand.

  • Visual Communication: Strong skills in process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart) to visualize complex CLM workflows.

  • Regulatory Awareness: Foundational knowledge of KYC/AML regulations to understand why certain data fields and checks are mandatory.

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to read basic API documentation (Swagger/Postman) and understand SQL queries is highly desirable.

  • You will demonstrate the following behaviors:

  • The “Details” Person: You spot the edge cases that others miss (e.g., “What happens if the client has a dual nationality?”).

  • Proactive Communicator: You don’t wait for the PO to ask for updates; you flag data gaps or blockers immediately.

  • Curious Learner: You are eager to understand the end-to-end banking ecosystem, not just your specific module.

  • Bridge Builder: You can speak “Tech” to developers and “Business” to bankers, ensuring nothing gets lost in translation.
