Department and Project
This position is within the Tolling Services team of Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary. The team consists of IT professionals specializing in electronic road-charging solutions. Together with our partners, we develop and operate intelligent, kilometer-based tolling systems for international customers, covering the entire business process (vehicle registrations, country booking, providing On-Board Units, position data transmission, charge calculation, and fleet billing). Leveraging digital intelligence and advanced technology, our tolling solutions facilitate seamless mobility across Europe. The team aims to enhance existing services and expand into new domains. As part of an international team collaborating with T-Systems International, you will play a key role in supporting our customers with cutting-edge tolling solutions.
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer - Monitoring to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust monitoring solutions to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact our users.
Main tasks
As a DevOps Engineer:
- Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions across cloud (AWS) and on-prem environments.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations to track system health, application performance, and key business metrics.
- Configure and optimize observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenSearch)
- Implement automated anomaly detection and predictive analysis to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to ensure best practices in monitoring and logging are followed.
- Optimize incident response by defining alerting thresholds and reducing noise from false positives.
- Perform root cause analysis of system issues and work on proactive solutions.
- Ensure logging and monitoring solutions comply with security and compliance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvements in monitoring strategies and propose new technologies where necessary.
Qualifications
Background and required skills:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in the following areas: Computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, natural science, mathematics, business or equivalent work experience in IT
- At least 3 years of professional experience in running IT services and management of Linux servers.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenSearch.
- Practical expertise of monitoring (ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Grafana, Prometheus Server).
- Proven experience with automation (scripting languages/Infrastructure as Code) is a big plus.
- Experience in container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS services.
- Basic experience in usage of databases.
- Knowledge with Container Build-/Deployment Tools and CI/CD Solutions (Jenkins, Gitlab CI) would be optimal.
- Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and collaborative team spirit.
- Fluent in English.
