Job Description
Purpose
Perform, coordinate and improve most complex activities (3rd level environment) needed to provide IT services and the supporting infrastructure in order to fulfill relevant KPI’s. Plan, implement and maintain a stable technical infrastructure to support organization’s business processes. Identify weaknesses in used processes and eliminate them following industry and internal standards.

The Senior Network Engineer will contribute to NGMA design enhancements aimed at improving network stability and supporting initiatives such as ORAN, IPv6, SRv6, backhaul sharing, streaming telemetry, and new network software deployment. The role involves working with a multi-tier mobile aggregation network currently based on Cisco routers, with a network modernization project commencing in 2026 to introduce new router platforms.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Introduce new routers within the mobile aggregation network, focusing on design, configuration, and testing within Telekom’s IT landscape (e.g., event and performance management systems).
- Develop Python-based automated tests to validate router configurations and related systems.
- Propose and conduct regular inspections with improvement recommendations.
- Evaluate, authorize, prioritize, plan, test, implement, document, and review complex changes in a controlled manner.
- Technical planning and execution of release and deployment activities, ensuring reliable service delivery in critical situations.
- Implement new technologies and upgrades to existing solutions.
Qualifications
YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:
- Have Master’s degree in Information Technologies with at least 5 years of professional experience in service provider networks.
- Strong expertise in router configurations, especially Cisco IOS XR, Segment Routing (SR and SRv6), MPLS, ISIS, BGP, VPNs, QoS, and BFD.
- Experienced in management protocols such as SNMP, gRPC, Netconf/YANG, streaming telemetry, and network troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Python programming and test automation, with experience using Jenkins.
- English proficiency at upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher; German is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
- Advanced soft skills including quick learning ability, analytical thinking, teamwork, and effective communication.
- Open-minded attitude with a proactive approach to contributing ideas.

Salary
Final salary is negotiable.
We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 1850€ /brutto.
