Job Description
Location: HSK, London
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent/Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office
About the Role
The analyst’s role is to help Harmsworth Media’s portfolio of brands understand their audiences through rigorous, end-to-end data analysis. You will report directly to the Analytics Manager and be expected to handle both fast-turnaround ad-hoc questions and longer, self-directed analytical projects. This is an early hire into a function that is growing. You’ll have direct access to senior stakeholders, real ownership of analytical projects, and the chance to shape how data is used across a portfolio of well-known media brands.
We are open to recent graduates with a strong analytical foundation as well as candidates with one to two years of hands-on experience.
The kinds of questions you will help us answer
- When is a registered user most likely to convert to a subscriber, and what behaviour signals that moment?
- What does a good subscriber onboarding journey look like, and where do we lose people in the first 30 days?
- How do we build a single, reliable view of the subscriber lifecycle that the whole team can work from?
- Where are the biggest drop-off points in the funnel, and what interventions are most likely to move the needle?
Main Responsibilities
- Answer ad-hoc data questions quickly and clearly across editorial, product, marketing, and commercial teams
- Own analytical projects end-to-end, from scoping and data extraction through to insight and recommendation
- Design reusable data assets from BigQuery data that the wider analytics team can rely on
- Communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders through well-structured story and visualisations
Person Specification
- Comfortable writing SQL to query large datasets; BigQuery experience is a plus
- Familiar with GA4 or a comparable web analytics platform
- Python experience for data manipulation or analysis is desirable
- Experience with a BI tool such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI is a bonus
- Background in media, publishing, or subscription businesses is an advantag
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable findings for non-technical audiences
- Curious, structured thinker who frames the right question before diving into the data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence to flag data quality issues, gaps, or methodological concerns and follow them through to resolution.
