Job Description
Duetti is looking for a Brand Communications Lead to own earned media and “earned distribution” across traditional press, social-first outlets, newsletters, podcasts, independent writers, and creator-led channels across music, tech, and finance. You will build and manage a durable communications pipeline: generating story angles, pitching them, landing placements, and maintaining relationships over time so we’re consistently present in the right conversations - without relying solely on big announcements. This is a performance driven, high volume, and high-ownership role for someone early in their career but unusually driven: fast, hungry, organized, and comfortable executing hands-on while also shaping strategy and narrative.
You Will:
- Own earned media strategy (proactive + reactive) across music, tech/startup, creator economy, and finance.
- Expand Duetti’s media mix beyond traditional press, including social-first news outlets, solo bloggers, newsletters/Substacks, podcasts, and creator-led media, as well as trades and business press.
- Build and run an always-on pitch engine (cadence of angles, targets, outreach, follow-ups, and conversions).
- Develop pitchable narratives and storylines, including founder POV and category narratives, company announcements, market insights, artist case studies, and more.
- Maintain a lightweight “comms CRM” of reporters/outlets/creators with active pitch pipeline with clear status and follow-up timelines.
- Own outreach and relationship management over time with thoughtful check-ins, rapid responsiveness, context sharing, and rapport-building that compounds.
- Partner with team on content ideation and packaging that can be pitched externally or published on owned channels (blog, LinkedIn, exec channels).
- Collaborate on and help manage executive thought leadership pieces (LinkedIn, op-eds, commentary, quotes, briefing docs, talking points).
Requirements:
- 2–5 years experience in content-led communications, growth marketing, integrated marketing, or a high-output marketing role at a startup/media brand.
- Proven ability to pitch, place, and build relationships with relevant outlets/voices (traditional and/or new media).
- Strong writing and packaging skills: crisp pitches, narrative framing, exec voice ghostwriting.
- Highly organized operator: can manage pipeline, follow-ups, and responsiveness without dropping threads.
- Nimble and hands-on: equally comfortable setting strategy and executing daily outreach.
- Credible interest in (and ability to learn quickly) the intersection of music, creators, tech, and finance; prior exposure to one or more is a plus.
- Tenacious with desire to drive results - high urgency, persistence, curiosity, and resilience in outbound relationship-building.
$90,000 - $120,000 a year
