Make your leadership count across a connected mental health system
Looking to step into a senior clinical leadership role with real system-level impact?
As Clinical Services Manager (CSM), you’ll provide consortium-wide clinical leadership and governance across Better Connect, supporting high-quality, recovery‑oriented mental health and/or AOD services delivered in partnership with multiple organisations.
This role is ideal for a senior clinician who enjoys influencing practice, strengthening clinical governance, and working collaboratively across services, without holding operational control of partner programs.
Your role, your impact
As Clinical Services Manager, you will:
- Provide clinical leadership and governance oversight across the Better Connect consortium
- Support consistent, person‑centred, trauma‑informed and evidence‑based practice
- Advise on clinical risk, ethical practice, and quality improvement at a system level
- Lead and support Clinical Supervisors, strengthening supervision quality and reflective practice
- Design and coordinate a cross‑consortium workforce development approach
- Identify shared training needs and promote workforce sustainability and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with program managers and partner organisations to support integration and consistency
- Represent Better Connect in relevant sector forums, partnerships, and workforce networks
- Contribute to policy development, service design, innovation, and evaluation activities
- Foster culturally safe, inclusive, and recovery‑oriented practice, including for First Nations peoples
This role balances strategic oversight with meaningful collaboration, supporting clinical quality while respecting the operational autonomy of consortium partners.
Who we’re looking for
You’re an experienced mental health clinician and leader who brings:
- Extensive experience in clinical service delivery and governance within mental health and/or AOD settings
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical governance, quality improvement, and ethical practice
- Strong experience providing clinical supervision and supporting clinical supervisors
- Ability to influence practice and culture without direct operational authority
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and collaboration skills
- Strong understanding of MHAODSP frameworks, legislation, and sector standards
- A commitment to recovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed, and inclusive practice
- Experience working in consortium, partnership, or multi‑agency environments is highly desirable.
You will hold:
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or a related discipline
- A postgraduate mental health qualification or equivalent specialist mental health training and experience
- A recognised mental health credential (e.g. AMHSW, credentialed mental health nurse, or equivalent)
- Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management, or clinical governance are desirable.
