**This is a directโ€‘hire role with our client in Minneapolis, MN, working in a hybrid setup. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**

This is an exciting leadership opportunity to shape the data strategy and execution for a fast-growing organization. Youโ€™ll lead a team of 17 data engineers, drive technical innovation, and implement modern, scalable solutions in Python, SQL, DBT, Snowflake, and cutting-edge ETL tools.

The role combines hands-on delivery, strategic influence, and team leadership โ€” offering real visibility and impact across the business, including initiatives leveraging AI-driven workflows and cloud-based processes. Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing data engineering team, including HR responsibilities such as performance management and PTO reviews.

  • Oversee and participate in hands-on development and technical delivery of data solutions.

  • Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines using Python, SQL, DBT, Snowflake, and modern ETL tools (Apache NiFi, Openflow).

Champion the adoption of AI/ML tools and cloud-based code review/deployment processes.

  • Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative data solutions.

  • Drive process improvements, team learning, and adoption of best practices across the data engineering organization.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.

  • Proven experience leading medium-to-large technical teams (ideally 10โ€“20+ engineers).

  • Deep expertise in Snowflake and DBT.

  • Familiarity with modern ETL frameworks such as Apache NiFi or Openflow.

  • Ability to work onsite in Minneapolis.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AI/ML integration in data workflows

  • Familiarity with cloud-based code review and deployment processes

  • Consulting mindset and ability to drive process change

  • Experience in financial services, private equity, or regulated industries
