Job Summary
As a Mid Database Administrator (19684), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Your role will involve leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving software development practices to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage, monitor, and maintain databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security
- Optimize queries, indexes, and database structures to improve application performance
- Perform backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and business continuity
- Collaborate with development teams to design and improve data models and database architectures
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3–5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in similar roles
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
- Strong proficiency in SQL and query optimization
- Experience with backup, recovery, and high availability solutions
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and monitoring techniques
- Experience implementing database security, access control, and user management
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
- Experience with scripting or automation for database management tasks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
