Job Summary
As a Lead Cloud Architect (20182), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Your role will involve leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving software development practices to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead end-to-end migration strategies from VMware environments to AWS Outposts and Red Hat OpenShift, defining rehost, replatform, or refactor approaches aligned with enterprise architecture standards
- Design and implement highly available and scalable OpenShift clusters across hybrid on-premises and AWS environments, ensuring proper integration with networking, storage, and disaster recovery architectures
- Drive application modernization initiatives including containerization, CI/CD implementation, and Infrastructure-as-Code automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
- Provide architectural leadership, guide migration teams, conduct design reviews, enforce security and governance standards, and resolve complex infrastructure and platform issues
Qualifications and Skills
- 12+ years of experience in Cloud Architecture, VMware, Linux, or Platform Engineering within large enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift including installation, cluster design, operations, and troubleshooting
- Proven experience leading VMware-to-AWS migration programs, including hybrid cloud and AWS Outposts deployments
- Deep knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, vCenter, NSX, Hyper-V, and hybrid networking solutions including Cisco ACI and Viptela
- Advanced understanding of AWS services including VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, and Load Balancers within hybrid architectures
- Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL) with solid experience in enterprise storage technologies such as Ceph, ODF, CSM, and ASM
- Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks
- Experience defining and implementing disaster recovery strategies across applications, databases, and infrastructure layers
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills with experience collaborating across cross-functional and global teams
