Job Summary
As a Senior Java Backend Engineer, you will build, and maintain backend services with high scalability, reliability, and maintainability. You will develop microservices, APIs, and cloud-native components, working closely with cross-functional teams to evolve the platform. The role focuses on hands-on development, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality backend software.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop backend applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and related technologies;
- Develop and maintain application code running on containerized environments, including Kubernetes clusters (EKS or similar), focusing only on application behavior and runtime;
- Write unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure reliability, correctness, and stability;
- Contribute to architectural discussions related to backend design, performance, data models, and service interactions;
- Collaborate with product, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver features end-to-end;
- Participate in code reviews and support best practices related to clean code, maintainability, and security;
- Produce clear and concise technical documentation for services and APIs.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Java (preferably Java 17+);
- Solid hands-on experience running and debugging applications in Kubernetes environments;
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB;
- Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot;
- Solid understanding of JPA/Hibernate and ORM patterns;
- Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing;
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
Highly Desirable Skills
- Kubernetes Certification: Application Developer | Clour Native Associate;
- Kakfa experience
- Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban;
- Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting application behavior (logs, metrics, tracing tools).
