Job Summary
As a Senior Java Developer - GCP & OWASP Security (18600), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Your role will involve leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving software development practices to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or Micronaut
- Build secure, scalable, and high-performance applications following OWASP and industry security best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and contribute to system architecture
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of development processes within Agile environments
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in software development using Java and modern backend frameworks
- Strong experience with Java ecosystems including Spring Boot or Micronaut
- Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit
- Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and OWASP standards
- Experience working with version control and collaboration tools such as Git, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
