About the role
TheĀ EcologyĀ AdministratorĀ will play a crucial role inĀ supporting theĀ EcologyĀ Team in the delivery ofĀ the creation and management of Habitat Banks on aĀ nationalĀ basis. Reporting toĀ our Ecology Director, theĀ EcologyĀ AdministratorĀ will be responsibleĀ for theĀ organisation of key in person eventsĀ throughout the year, will organise and minute key leadership and stakeholder meetings, will support across the team on logistics and administrative tasks and will update and maintain the internal intranet site.
The role requires effectiveĀ organisation,Ā time-management,Ā communication, collaboration with internal teams, and engagement with external stakeholders such asĀ Responsible Bodies, charityĀ organisationsĀ and Natural England.
The roleĀ isĀ hybridĀ andĀ location will beĀ ideallyĀ YorkĀ butĀ BristolĀ or London will also beĀ considered..Ā Alongside this you would attend in personĀ wholeĀ team meetingsĀ and whole business meet ups alternating on a quarterly basisĀ and in person leadership/management team meetings once a quarter.
Responsibilities
Organise conference attendance and trainingĀ for the team
Organise team PPE
Support in setting up and taking minutes for key leadershipĀ meetings āÆandĀ following up actions
Book hire car and hotels for group bookings
Supporting onĀ logistics/travel arrangements during survey season
Management of Ecology team resource planner ā making sure everyone is keeping it updated.
Management of our EcologyĀ intranetĀ space
Complete POs for teamĀ for soil testing, desk studyĀ recordsĀ and specialist contractor input at design.
Organising the annual companyĀ Habitat BankĀ site visits (4 per year)
Organising two whole team get togethers a year and four management/leadership in person meetings a year
Organising specific days run for stakeholders e.g. the Natural England Day at HARR09 last year; and;
other general secretarial support for the team
Experience of workingĀ in theĀ environmentalĀ sector would be advantageous
Excellent communication skillsĀ both verbal and written, including the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
Organised and self-starting, capable of managing personal schedule,Ā maintainingĀ records, and prioritising tasks effectively
Willingness to travel for regional site visits and events
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Understanding ofĀ local record centres and how to accessĀ informationĀ Ā wouldĀ beĀ advantageousĀ but not essential.
Numerate and computer literate with anĀ understanding of data analysis and manipulation.
