Overview of the role
The Head of Engineering is accountable for engineering ownership and outcomes at Euromonitor. The role combines hands-on technical leadership, delivery excellence, and people leadership, ensuring teams build and operate reliable, scalable software aligned with business priorities.
You will lead engineering teams working in a cloud-native environment on Microsoft Azure using the .NET ecosystem, partnering closely with Product, Architecture, and Data teams.
Euromonitor is currently amid a significant modernization of its technology architecture, core platforms, and engineering practices. This role plays a pivotal part in driving that transformation—evolving platforms and the underlying technology stack, enabling the thoughtful adoption of AI‑enabled capabilities, and providing clear, consistent leadership across a geographically distributed engineering organization.
What you’ll do
Engineering Ownership & Delivery
Own end-to-end engineering delivery across products and platforms.
Drive predictable delivery through clear priorities, execution discipline, and risk management.
Take accountability for outcomes across delivery, quality, reliability, and performance.
Balance short-term delivery commitments with long-term platform health and sustainability.
Hands-On Technical Leadership
Act as a hands-on technical leader and role model for engineers.
Ensure solutions align with modern .NET practices, Azure cloud‑native architecture, and Euromonitor quality, scalability and reliability standards.
Shape engineering standards and technical direction, helping teams and stakeholders make informed, long‑term technical and delivery decisions.
Maintain architectural integrity and address technical debt pragmatically.
Modernization & Engineering Transformation
Lead modernization across the engineering stack, including platform evolution and data architecture.
Improve engineering ways of working to increase flow, quality, and predictability.
Introduce pragmatic improvements in tooling, SDLC practices, and developer experience.
Ensure transformation initiatives are outcome-driven and business-aligned.
Engineering Outcomes & Performance
Set clear expectations for engineering outcomes across delivery, quality, and operational health.
Use metrics to inform decisions, surface risks, and support continuous improvement.
Reinforce ownership and accountability for outcomes at team level.
Maintain clarity on standards, expectations, and performance.
AI-Enabled Capabilities
Drive practical adoption of AI-enabled capabilities across products and engineering workflows.
Partner with Product and Data teams to identify AI use cases that deliver clear value.
Support teams in building and operating AI-enabled systems responsibly at scale.
Treat AI as an accelerator of strong engineering, decision-making, and product outcomes.
Operational Ownership
Own the operational health of systems, including availability, security, and cost.
Ensure strong CI/CD, monitoring, and incident management practices.
Lead major incident response and ensure follow-through on improvements.
Reinforce that teams own what they build in production.
Cross-Functional & Distributed Collaboration
Partner effectively with Product, Data, Architecture, and other stakeholders.
Work effectively with geographically distributed teams while maintaining shared standards.
Communicate clearly on priorities, risks, trade-offs, and progress.
Build trust through transparency, delivery, and ownership.
People Leadership & Culture
Lead and develop engineers, Engineering Managers, and Tech Leads.
Foster a culture of ownership, performance, and technical excellence.

Support hiring, performance management, and capability development.
Technology Partners
Work with technology partners where appropriate to support engineering outcomes.

What we’re looking for
Technical
Strong hands-on background in the .NET ecosystem.
Proven experience building and operating systems on Microsoft Azure.
Solid understanding of cloud-native and distributed systems.
Strong grounding in DevOps / DevSecOps practices.
Leadership & Delivery
Experience leading and delivering scalable & reliable products and platforms.
Experience leading teams across locations, building alignment through clarity, trust, and consistent expectations.
Demonstrated ownership of outcomes through change and ambiguity.
Strong execution, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
