Fengate Asset Management

We are an investment firm focused on real assets: infrastructure, private equity, and real estate. Started in 1974, we now operate across North America with offices in Toronto, Oakville, Houston, and Miami, managing investments for institutional clients.

We develop and invest in infrastructure projects. For private equity, we partner with entrepreneurs. In real estate, we invest in, develop, and operate assets. Our work includes investment and asset management, public-private partnerships, independent power projects, and commercial real estate.

We are a signatory to the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), which guides how we integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into our investment processes. Recently, we’ve expanded our infrastructure team, made strategic investments in various sectors, and acquired stakes in energy assets. We also focus on sustainability reporting, ESG data management, and carbon accounting.

Our executive leadership team includes women, and an Equity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Diversity (EBID) Think Tank guides our strategy. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) like Women@Fengate and Emerging Leaders help employees connect. The FUNgate social committee plans extracurricular activities and team-building events.

Our commitment extends to corporate responsibility. We integrate UNPRI principles into our long-term decisions, aiming to minimize our environmental impact, support energy transition, and promote health, safety, and well-being. We also uphold strong governance principles and ethical conduct. Through the Fengate Community Foundation, we support causes in our hometown of Hamilton and across Canada and the U.S. Employees can participate in community initiatives, including volunteering three days a year at a charity of their choice.

We offer a hybrid work arrangement. Employees get paid health and dental benefits from day one, plus a healthcare spending account. Canadian employees receive $1,000 per year for mental health expenses. We offer access to our private markets fund co-investment program and an Employee Assistance Program (Inkblot EAP). Paid Educational Assistance and support for relevant professional designations are available, as well as access to the Ten Thousand Coffees mentorship and networking program. Employees receive a work-from-home allowance and an annual physical fitness subsidy. We offer 3 paid volunteer days, starting at 3 weeks vacation, and Recharge Days (an extra day each long weekend).
