About Generate

Founded in 2014, we build, finance, own, and operate sustainable infrastructure. We provide affordable, reliable solutions to companies, governments, and communities worldwide.

Through our Infrastructure-as-a-Service model, we serve over 2,000 customers, including businesses, communities, school districts, and universities. We also partner with over 40 technology and project developers. We are a Public Benefit Corporation.

We own and operate more than 2,000 assets in sustainable energy, mobility, and water, waste & agriculture. Our sustainable energy projects include microgrids, solar, energy storage, lighting, HVAC systems, fuel cells, geothermal, biomass & biogas, building automation & sensors, heat pumps, smart meters, green hydrogen, and combined heat and power (CHP). In sustainable mobility, we work with electric and hydrogen vehicles, autonomous vehicles, charging infrastructure, fleets, electric buses, and sustainable fuels. For sustainable water, waste, and agriculture, we develop anaerobic digesters, wastewater treatment, desalination, food waste management, recycling/reuse, precision agriculture, farm automation, irrigation, sensors & meters, biogas, composting, biosolids management, carbon capture and storage, renewable natural gas, waste-to-electricity, and greenhouses. We also support sustainable cities with fiber broadband (FTTX) and smart city technologies.

We’ve developed new infrastructure asset classes like battery storage, community, commercial, and industrial solar, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, fuel cells, wastewater treatment, distributed desalination, and organic waste management. We manage all upfront costs, technical evaluation, and long-term operations for projects. Our approach is guided by what we call the 4 Ds: Democratized, Digitized, Decarbonized, and Decentralized.

Recently, we raised over $1 billion for our credit strategies in late 2025 and secured C$60 million for our anaerobic digestion portfolio. We also closed an $85 million community solar tax equity fund in late 2025 and provided a $100 million credit facility for Soluna, a developer of green data centers. In 2024, we secured $1.2 billion in corporate credit facilities and raised $1.5 billion in capital commitments.
