We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Test Engineer to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our software products.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for planning and executing testing activities, with a strong focus on manual testing, while also contributing to test automation efforts to support quality and efficiency objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and coordinate testing activities across the software development lifecycle, ensuring product quality and reliability
- Design, develop, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements
- Perform manual testing of backend services, APIs, and applications, identifying, documenting, and tracking defects
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated tests where appropriate to improve test coverage and efficiency
- Analyze test results, investigate issues, and support troubleshooting activities with development teams
- Ensure testing activities are integrated into the software delivery process and support continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, including manual and automated testing activities
- Experience testing backend systems and APIs
- In-depth experience with tools such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, including test design, automation, validation, and troubleshooting
- Practical experience using SQL for data verification and test setup
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Experience with Jira and Xray for test management
- Excellent command of Italian and English (spoken and written)
- ISTQB Certification or similar is a plus
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum teams
- Strong ownership mindset, proactive attitude, and willingness to actively contribute to day‑to‑day testing activities
Location Requirement:
- Please note that a fully remote work policy is not offered for this role
- Candidates should be prepared to relocate to Canton Ticino/Switzerland or towns near the Swiss-Italian border
- Work-from-home days may be possible according to the Client’s policy
