At First Focus, we’re Australia’s #1 mid-market MSP (eight years running, which even we can’t believe). We’re growing fast across Australia, NZ, South Africa, and the Philippines, and we need an Accounts Officer who can take charge of both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable — the full money dance, in and out.
You’ll help keep our finances smooth, suppliers happy, and customers paying on time. And you’ll do it all with a friendly team who laughs as much as they balance ledgers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Send invoices, follow up payments, and keep cash flowing nicely.
- Reconcile payments like a detective — no mystery left unsolved.
- Manage credit holds and promote Direct Debit (because easy is good).
- Support month-end reporting and cashflow forecasts.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process and check supplier invoices (AU & NZ).
- Schedule payments, send remittance advices, and keep vendors smiling.
- Reconcile statements — because “almost balanced” doesn’t cut it.
- Handle credit card and expense reconciliations without breaking a sweat.
Finance Support
- Keep the finance inbox under control (not buried).
- Jump into month-end, audits, and other finance projects.
- Collaborate with the Aussie team — they love a good spreadsheet too.
What You’ll Bring
1+ year of Accounts experience (AR or AP, ideally both) for Australian clients.
Excellent English communication — you’re confident chatting with customers and suppliers.
Serious attention to detail and time management.
Experience with Xero, MYOB, or similar systems.
Calm, adaptable energy — you roll with the changes and keep things steady.
Ability to multi-task across AR and AP functions, using multiple systems efficiently while prioritising competing deadlines
