Job Description
- Design, build, and optimize robust, reusable, and scalable data pipelines and transformations (using dbt, SQL, and cloud data warehouse technologies).
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure reliable data ingestion and with analysts to enable self-service analytics.
- Develop and maintain well-documented data models, definitions, and metadata to ensure data consistency and transparency.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into high-quality analytical datasets.
- Implement and maintain data quality checks, testing frameworks, and monitoring processes.
- Support performance optimization across ETL/ELT processes and query execution.
- Drive best practices in data governance, version control, and documentation within the analytics engineering team.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of data workflows and standards.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related roles.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong experience with data transformation tools (e.g., dbt).
- Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks). Big Query preferred.
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles (e.g., Kimball, Data Vault, or modern ELT architectures).
- Strong Python skills for data manipulation and automation.
- Experience implementing CI/CD practices in data environments (e.g., Git-based workflows, testing frameworks).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Mode).
- Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
- Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and security principles.
- Experience in an Agile delivery environment.
