Job Description
The Senior Manager, Global Inventory is responsible for overseeing the company’s global end-to-end inventory lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, visibility, and control across internal locations and third-party logistics (3PL) partners. This role requires advanced analytical capability, strong financial awareness, and the ability to develop, present, and lead executive-level discussions related to inventory performance, risk, and strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a global environment, partnering with international 3PLs, and translating complex, multi-region inventory data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
This is a U.S.-based remote position. The work hours are from 8:30a - 5:30p. Eastern time. Our benefit offerings include Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401k with Company match and PTO.
Key Responsibilities
Global Inventory Management & Control
- Own inventory accuracy across global locations, including internal facilities and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
- Establish and govern inventory control standards for serialized and non-serialized inventory across regions.
- Ensure accurate inventory records, timely reporting, and adherence to agreed-upon processes.
- Oversee global cycle count programs, reconciliation activities, and variance resolution with internal teams and 3PL partners.
- Monitor inventory movements, intercompany transfers, and regional stock positioning to ensure data integrity across ERP and reporting systems.
Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and maintain global inventory dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics (e.g., accuracy, turns, aging, variances).
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Finance to support global inventory valuation, reserves, write-downs, and financial exposure analysis.
- Produce recurring and ad-hoc global inventory reports for senior leadership.
Executive Communication, Presentation & Leadership
- Translate complex global data sets into actionable insights tailored for C-level and senior leadership audiences.
- Prepare concise, visually effective executive presentations summarizing multi-region inventory data and insights. (PowerPoint).
- Present and lead executive-level meetings focused on inventory performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
- Drive discussions with confidence, address inquiries, and facilitate alignment and decision-making.
3PL & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as the primary inventory liaison with global third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
- Define inventory reporting requirements, cadence, and accuracy standards.
- Review and challenge inventory reports, investigate discrepancies, and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Global Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Finance, IT, and 3PL partners to resolve inventory issues.
Process Improvement & Governance
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen global inventory accuracy and control.
- Support ERP enhancements, reporting automation, and system integrations related to inventory.
- Develop and maintain global inventory SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
- Ensure inventory processes align with internal controls, audit requirements, and applicable compliance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of inventory management experience, including exposure to multi-location or global inventory environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize large, complex data sets.
- Proven ability to prepare, present, and lead executive-level meetings and presentations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools strongly preferred.
- Experience working within ERP systems and inventory management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting global operations or international supply chains.
- Strong partnership with Finance on inventory valuation and risk analysis.
- Exposure to regulated or audited environments.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
