Team mission
The Growth Data Products team builds the Machine Learning (ML) systems that drive customer acquisition and retention at GetYourGuide. We own end-to-end ML products in production, from bidding algorithms that optimize millions in paid search spend to personalized CRM campaigns that engage travelers worldwide. We’re also actively exploring how Large Language Models and generative AI can unlock new marketing capabilities. This team is strategic to GYG’s growth, directly shaping how we scale customer acquisition and retention globally.
Your mission
You’ll lead a team of Data Scientists and MLOps Engineers building ML products that directly impact revenue and growth. Reporting to the Director of Data Products, your success is measured by your team’s impact. This includes:
- Hire exceptional talent, drive performance management, and unlock your team’s full potential.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering stakeholders to manage the roadmap and portfolio allocation to drive impactful projects.
- Find pragmatic solutions to complex technical challenges that span across multiple services and domains of our marketplace.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the broader business on initiatives.
- Bring external expertise and domain knowledge to complement the team’s deep internal context, helping the team evolve their approaches and stay current with emerging technologies.
Your toolkit
- Track record in building and managing high-performing Data Science teams
- History of driving measurable ROI in commercial environments, not just shipping models
- Background as a Data Scientist or MLOps engineer with a deep understanding of ML development, deployment, and production systems
- Meaningful experience in the customer acquisition and retention domains through hands-on work or management roles
- Ability to shape technical strategy and make architectural decisions that align with business outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
