Team mission
Within Supply Data Engineering - part of the strategic Flywheel Data Engineering group - our mission is to build the trusted data foundations and self-serve capabilities for the supply side of our marketplace. We ingest, integrate, and structure critical internal and external datasets into reliable tables, metrics, and data products that help GetYourGuide onboard suppliers, support their success, and scale supply operations. We achieve this through close partnership with Supply, Product and Data, enabling teams to move faster with confidence.
Your mission
- Build and lead a high-performing team: Hire, coach, and support data engineers to do their best work through clear expectations, direct feedback, and performance management.
- Set direction and deliver outcomes: Shape the roadmap, strategy, and long-term vision for Supply Data Engineering - aligned with the priorities of Product, Sales, and Data partners working in the space
- Be a trusted thought partner: Act as a strategic advisor to stakeholders across Supply, Product and Data, building strong relationships and driving adoption of trusted datasets and self-serve capabilities.
- Raise the bar on technical excellence: Ensure strong data architecture, reliability, and data quality. Establish effective engineering practices and standards while balancing hands-on technical leadership with people leadership.
- Power critical decision-making and initiatives: Lead work that integrates and operationalizes internal and external datasets (including competitive signals) to enable initiatives such as dynamic/competitive pricing, availability and inventory optimization, and quality improvements - so Supply can move faster with confidence.
Your toolkit
- Experience: 3+ years in a relevant data management role with hands-on experience.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, able to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic leadership + business acumen: You translate strategic needs into crisp priorities, measurable outcomes, and executable roadmaps.
- Cross-functional influence: You align stakeholders across Supply, Product and Data - navigating trade-offs and keeping delivery focused on impact.
- Player-coach leadership: You combine strong coaching with technical depth - reviewing designs and code, improving engineering standards, and mentoring engineers.
- High-trust team leadership: You build an inclusive, high-trust team with strong engagement and retention, develop high performers, and address performance issues promptly and fairly.
- Data engineering fundamentals: You’re proficient in SQL and Python and bring strong grounding in data modeling, pipeline design, orchestration, observability, and data quality. You’re comfortable engaging directly with production systems.
- Pragmatic, self-serve mindset: You value automation, documentation, and enablement to drive scalable self-serve adoption.
- AI-first mindset: You leverage modern AI tools and techniques to boost engineering productivity and accelerate solving business needs - while maintaining strong standards for quality, security, and governance.
Extras that give you an edge
- Relevant domain experience: You’ve worked in a marketplace business before, ideally working with seller/supplier-side data (e.g., pricing, availability, inventory, quality). You thrive in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Modern data stack exposure: You have experience with tools such as Databricks/Spark, dbt, and Looker (or comparable technologies).
- Strength with challenging external data: You’re curious and resilient with real-world data constraints, especially integrating frequently changing external/competitive sources - while maintaining reliability, governance, and trust.
How we’ll make your career journey extraordinary
- Annual personal growth budget and mentorship programs for continuous learning and development
- Work from anywhere in the world for 30 days per year
- A hybrid working approach with three days of in office collaboration (Mon, Tue, Thur) and two days of optional at home focus time.

- Monthly transportation and fitness budget
- Discounts for you, your friends, and family on GetYourGuide activities
- Language reimbursement program
- Health and wellness benefits
