About the Role
We’re looking for ahands-on software managerwho leads with aproduct mindset, not a
project checklist. You’ll guide a small, high-impact team through the entireProduct
Development Lifecycle (PDLC)— from discovery and definition to delivery and measurement
— while still writing production-grade code50% of the time.
You’ll work closely with the product to ensure we’re buildingthe right thingbefore buildingthe
thing right,but focused on building it right before hitting project timelines.
Responsibilities
Lead by example:Design, code, and ship high-quality software usingAngular(front
end),Java(back end), andAWS Lambdafor serverless systems.
Drive the PDLC:Partner with product and leadership to define clear outcomes, shape
MVPs, and iterate fast based on user feedback.
Mentor and grow developers:Build technical mastery and foster product thinking
within the team with a history of being able to handle difficult conversations.
Ensure engineering excellence:Maintain strong standards for reliability, testing,
observability, high-availability, and code quality.
Collaborate cross-functional:Work effectively across time zones with product and
infrastructure teams.
Balance speed and safety:Use progressive delivery and CI/CD practices for fast,
confident releases.
Establish roadmaps: Build opinionated roadmaps through collaboration with your tech
leaders and Product partner.
Required Experience
7 - 10 yearsof software engineering experience, including2+ years of technical
leadership or management.
ExcellentEnglish communication— both written and spoken — to collaborate
seamlessly with global stakeholders.
Proficiency withAngular (v13+),TypeScript, HTML/CSS.
Deep experience withJava (Spring Boot) services.Excellent understanding ofAWS services(e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3,
RDS, API Gateway).
Strong understanding ofsystem design,scalability,microservices, and
distributed architectures.
Experience designinghigh-availability,fault-tolerance, andsecure
systems.
Hands-on withGitHub Actions,Jenkins, or other CI/CD automation.
Experience mentoring engineers and conducting thoughtful, constructive code reviews.
Strong product sense — able to connect engineering choices to user and business
outcomes.
Nice to Have
Exposure containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation)..
Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
Performance optimization inlarge-scale Java applications.
Prior work in distributed, async-first global teams.
Ability and willingness to travel to remote offices and partners, including international
travel up to 4 weeks per year.
