Hybrid Work
HCVT currently offers a hybrid work model that allows eligible employees to work both remotely and in the office, based on business needs and team coordination. When working remotely, employees are expected to meet the same performance standards, adhere to the same policies, and maintain the same level of communication, collaboration, and responsiveness as working in the office. As a Bookkeeper in our Client Accounting Services Group, you will be responsible for the following:
- Perform assigned full‑cycle bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable/receivable processing, bank and credit card reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and client reports for review; maintain organized supporting documentation .
- Support client onboarding activities by completing assigned setup tasks, including data migration and chart of accounts setup in accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero).
- Participate in ad‑hoc projects by completing defined workstreams such as ledger cleanups or transaction reviews, following established guidance.
- Aid in gathering the necessary information (e.g., W-9) throughout the year and preparing Form 1099 filings in January.
- Assist with periodical bill pay process using cloud-based tools, such as Bill and Ramp.
- Collaborate with team members by following documented workflows, contributing to process documentation, and sharing observations related to efficiency and automation.
- Deliver professional client and internal support by responding to routine inquiries, escalating issues as appropriate, and communicating clearly with clients and offshore teams.
- Engage in firm training, professional development, and team activities; attend meetings to support bookkeeping deliverables and build understanding of how financial data informs budgeting and performance analysis.
To be successful, these are the skills, qualities, and experience you will need:
- 1+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience (no degree required).
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, including debits and credits, and their application in bookkeeping.
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to follow established procedures consistently.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, proactively ask questions and seek feedback.
- Ability to manage multiple assigned tasks within established processes and timelines.
- Positive, learning‑oriented attitude and interest in developing within client accounting services.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset with a willingness to help others.
