About the role: What’s in the Box
As an Operational Excellence (OpEx) Engineer, you will play a key role in improving our end-to-end production operations in our Distribution Center (DC) in Bleiswijk, NL. You will join the Operational Excellence team, working at the heart of our production environment to identify opportunities that drive efficiency, quality, and cost improvements.
You will focus on elevating how we operate on a daily basis, from reducing waste and increasing productivity to strengthening our operational culture. Together with OpEx colleagues across multiple markets, you will contribute to standardizing and harmonizing processes, helping HelloFresh scale efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
What you’ll do: The Recipe
- Identify and drive improvements across production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
- Apply structured problem-solving methods (e.g. root cause analysis, 5 Whys, DMAIC) to resolve recurring operational issues
- Lead and execute improvement projects, ensuring successful implementation and sustainable results
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Production, Supply Chain, and FSQA to align on priorities and solutions
- Act as a change agent on the shop floor, supporting teams in adopting new ways of working and continuous improvement practices
- Develop and implement standard processes (SOPs, visual management, error-proofing) to support consistency and scalability
- Monitor performance and highlight inefficiencies, proactively identifying risks related to cost, quality, and safety
What you’ll bring: The Ingredients
- Experience in production, manufacturing, or logistics environments, ideally in high-volume operations
- Strong analytical mindset with hands-on problem-solving skills and a structured way of working
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma); certifications are a plus, not a must
- Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at different levels, from shop floor teams to management
- A proactive and ownership-driven mindset, with a focus on delivering tangible improvements
- Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus
