Business Development Manager | 100% Remote | INC 5000 Winner

Most Business Development roles are just “Sales” in a cheaper suit. This isn’t one of them. We don’t do cold calls, we don’t use scripts, and we don’t value “activity” over impact.

At How To Manage A Small Law Firm (HTM), we believe growth is a byproduct of trust. We’re looking for a sophisticated relationship-builder who understands that one high-value partnership is worth more than a thousand cold emails.

The Mission

We help solo and small law firm owners transform from overworked practitioners into profitable CEOs. As our Business Development Manager, you are the face of that transformation in the legal ecosystem. You aren’t “selling” coaching; you are building the bridges that lead firm owners to freedom.

You’ll thrive here if:

  • You have 6 + years of high-level BD, partnership, or recruiting experience.
  • You are energized by travel, networking events, and “working the room.”
  • You find “scripts” insulting and “structure” helpful only when it serves the relationship.
  • You can navigate the legal industry with poise, intelligence, and professional “swagger.”

This is NOT for you if:

  • You need a “manual” to start your day.
  • You prefer a predictable 9-to-5 desk routine.
  • You view business as a series of one-off transactions.
  • You struggle with ambiguity or building systems from scratch.

What Success Looks Like

In six months, you’ll have built a “moat” of referral partners. You’ll be the person legal organizations call when they want to add value to their members. You won’t just be hitting targets; you’ll be the engine behind HTM’s national presence.

The Essentials

  • Location: Remote (Must reside in: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, or WA).
  • Travel: Required for conferences and partner meetings (where the magic happens).
  • Comp: Base salary + performance-based upside tied to the real value you create (referrals and revenue).
