You’re trusted to get your work done your way while testing the limits of what’s possible and what’s next. We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it—their votes helped us become one of Newsweek’s Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces.
We think of ourselves as the team behind the team, supporting the lifelong impact sports can have: the lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring coaches; and the opportunities to reach new heights. That’s why we help teams from all over the world see their game differently. Our products make it easier for coaches and athletes at any level to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and more.

Your Role
We’re hiring an Application and Cloud Security Engineer to manage and implement technical solutions that keep our global platform secure. You’ll join our Security & Compliance team to drive improvements, maintain secure solutions and help protect the data of millions of athletes and coaches worldwide.
As an Application and Cloud Security Engineer, you will design, implement, and manage technical solutions that safeguard our infrastructure. You’ll serve as a Subject Matter Expert, establishing security standards and building reusable, secure frameworks for the entire organization.
Beyond technical execution, you will act as a strategic partner—aligning security initiatives with our business objectives and compliance charter. By maintaining deep expertise in Cloud and Incident Response, you’ll drive innovation through proof-of-concept engagements and adopt forward-thinking platforms that evolve alongside our business.
As an Application and Cloud Security Engineer at Hudl, you’ll:
- Secure our cloud infrastructure. You’ll provide advisory and implementation services for security controls within Hudl cloud services, performing regular reviews and prioritizing vulnerability remediation.
- Respond to threats. You’ll be a key part of our 24⁄7 incident response program, owning security threats from identification through to resolution.
- Collaborate across teams. You’ll work alongside technology and business groups to develop enterprise cloud security standards, ensuring our protection evolves with emerging threats.
- Champion compliance. You’ll help align our security objectives with business requirements, maintaining our high standards for FERPA, SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO compliance.
Our priority is to hire someone for this role who lives near our offices in Lincoln or Omaha, but we’re also open to remote candidates in the US.
Must-Haves
- Experienced in cloud security. You have 2–5 years of experience managing vulnerabilities and a deep understanding of modern cloud-based attack techniques.
- Technical proficiency. You’re comfortable operating and troubleshooting cloud-based services—ideally AWS—and have experience integrating security into the application lifecycle.
- A strong communicator. You can effectively document and present complex security principles to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Accountable and organized. You take full ownership of your work and can prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Pragmatic. You can prioritize, clearly express tradeoffs and generate buy-in on a solution that’s best for everyone while in alignment with organizational risk tolerance.
Nice-to-Haves
- Certified. You hold one or more information security certifications (such as ISC2, ISACA, SANS or AWS).
- DevOps minded. You’ve operated in a DevOps model and have a basic understanding of SecDevOps or Secure SDLC best practices.
- Tech stack familiarity. You have some experience with (or a willingness to learn) our building blocks like C#, MongoDB, React and .NET Core.
- Compliance savvy. You’re familiar with common control frameworks and regulatory requirements like ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
Our Role
- Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
- Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
- Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
- Provide an environment to help you succeed. We’ve invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech stack and hardware to do your best work.
- Support your mental and physical health. We care about our employees’ wellbeing. Our Employee Assistance Program, employee resource groups and fitness partner Peerfit have you covered.
- Cover your medical insurance. We have multiple plans to pick from to ensure you’ll have the coverage you (and your dependents) want, including vision, dental, fertility healthcare and family forming benefits.
- Contribute to your 401(K). Yep, that’s free money. We’ll match up to 4% of your own contribution.

Inclusion at Hudl
Hudl is an equal opportunity employer. Through our actions, behaviors and attitude, we’ll create an environment where everyone, no matter their differences, feels like they belong.
We offer resources to ensure our employees feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work, including employee resource groups and communities. But we recognize there’s ongoing work to be done, which is why we track our efforts and commitments in annual inclusion reports.
We also know imposter syndrome is real and the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don’t hesitate to apply—we’d love to hear from you.
