About the role
Hungryroot is seeking a Procurement Lead to build and operationalize a centralized procurement function. This is a contracted role (6–12 months) with potential for full-time conversion. You’ll own vendor spend, sourcing strategy, and procurement infrastructure across the business, partnering closely with Finance and business leaders. We are looking for meaningful cost savings in technology and marketing and displacement of spend with AI solutions within the first 6 months of the contract.
Responsibilities
- Drive vendor consolidation, pricing normalization, and contract discipline
- Own enterprise-wide vendor spend visibility, sourcing, and negotiation
- Establish procurement workflows and approval processes, as necessary, without slowing down the business
- Partner with FP&A to integrate savings into budgeting and forecasting
- Over time, develop supplier performance metrics and ongoing vendor management
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply/vendor management
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and operational improvements at scale
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience partnering with Finance/FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis
- Ability to build processes and teams in a high-growth environment
- Strong analytical skills with comfort working across spend data and vendor economics
- Experience in consumer, e-commerce, food, or high-growth operating environments is preferred
- Prior leadership experience building a procurement function from the ground up is a plus
