Role Summary:
The Procurement Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing and guiding a team that manages day-to-day procurement operations, supporting the purchase of employee equipment, software, and related services both domestically and internationally. This role leads the team through the full purchasing lifecycle, including requisition processing, vendor coordination, and order tracking to ensure efficient procurement and delivery of required resources. The Lead also acts as a primary point of contact for escalations, provides mentorship, and ensures alignment with company goals.
This position works closely with Engineering, Hardware Operations, and Finance teams to support procurement of both hardware and software solutions, including engineering tools and licensing agreements.
Beyond transactional purchasing, the Lead drives improvements in procurement workflows through process optimization, data analysis, and adoption of emerging technologies and automation tools, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
What You’ll Do
Lead the procurement team process, ensuring effective collaboration and performance across all team members.
Manage the end-to-end procurement process including purchase requisitions, vendor coordination, order placement, and delivery tracking for equipment, software licenses, and services.
Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to procure s oftware tools, development platforms, and technical solutions, including managing software purchasing agreements and renewal timelines.
Research, evaluate, and maintain relationships with global suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, service reliability, and timely fulfillment.
Monitor equipment and supply levels to support employee onboarding, deployments, and replacement needs while minimizing operational delays.
Track requisitions, orders, and procurement activities while providing status updates and reporting to relevant stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve procurement workflows through process standardization, automation, and adoption of procurement technologies.
Analyze purchasing data and vendor performance to support cost optimization and operational efficiency.
Serve as the escalation point for procurement issues and ensure timely resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain operations, or procurement operations, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Experience working with procurement systems, ticketing platforms, or purchasing platforms (Tipalti, Netsuite, and Jira preferred).
Familiarity with vendor management and service level agreements (SLAs).
Experience supporting procurement of technology equipment or software licensing preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Legal and Finance.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Interest in leveraging technology, automation, or data insights to improve operational processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with procurement analytics, workflow automation, or procurement platforms.
Exposure to AI-enabled business tools or process improvement initiatives.
Experience supporting global equipment and software procurement.
Experience working in a scaling technology or services organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and innovation.
Compensation & Benefits
The Compensation range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. If the compensation structure for the role includes an incentive component (i.e. most Sales roles) the range below represents total target compensation (TTC) (base salary + variable).
