About ICEYE Germany

ICEYE delivers mission-critical synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite data and analytics to commercial and government customers worldwide. ICEYE Germany is a national office focused on GeoInt, Tactical ISR, managed services and government engagement.

Role summary

The StratOps Lead is the operational accelerator for ICEYE Germany. You will build a highly effective country operations function for capacity building and managed-service delivery to partners (RISS and Rheinmetall). This is a hands-on, high-impact role: you will execute operational work directly, prepare meetings and decisions bases, build processes and playbooks, run delivery governance, and operate across a global matrix of stakeholders. We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive self-starter with a bias for action and the ability to sustain high output during critical periods.

Key responsibilities

  • Own delivery governance and program liaison for all Germany operations; prepare and enable operational decision-making for the CEO and executive stakeholders.
  • Build and operate operating rhythms (daily/weekly/monthly), KPI dashboards, SLAs and escalation processes to support rapid ramp-up and mission-critical delivery.
  • Take hands-on responsibility for operational readiness, runbooks, deployment checklists and first-line execution during deployments or partner enablement.
  • Lead operations for hiring, partner enablement, vendor management and organisational build-out; work with Talent/HR to execute priority hiring and onboarding.
  • Support the CEO on government interface activities, program negotiations and subcontract/partner governance where operational accountability exists.
  • Manage resource planning, budgets and operational risk registers; ensure compliance with export control, security and local legal requirements.
  • Recruit, mentor and scale a compact operations team as the function grows; set clear KPIs and operating standards for direct reports.
  • Provide direct, decision-grade briefings and status updates for senior leadership; maintain stakeholder maps, delivery trackers and audit-ready documentation.
  • Operate in the field as required (partner sites, integration events, customer demos) and act as an operational troubleshooter.

Qualifications & experience

  • Minimum: 4+ years’ experience in operations, delivery, program control or compliance in complex technical and/or regulated environments. Defence/ISR/GeoInt experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end operational accountability and evidence of direct execution in high-stakes projects.
  • Proven experience building operating rhythms, KPIs, dashboards and escalation governance in fast-ramp environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management across commercial, technical and global functional teams.
  • Comfortable working hands-on and performing executional tasks Execution > Tactics > Strategie
  • Consulting experience is a plus.
  • Fluent German and English (spoken and written).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Security clearance experience or ability to obtain security clearance preferred.
  • Behavioural profile: highly motivated, proactive self-starter; bias for action; resilient under pressure; strong sense of ownership; high personal output and willingness to work extended hours during critical phases.

Success metrics (first 6–12 months)

  • Partner enablement level for priority programmes (target defined with CEO).
  • Establishment of core operating rhythms and KPI dashboards with measurable improvement in delivery KPIs.
  • Successful execution of first managed-service deployment(s) to partners.
  • Delivery of hiring plan milestones for operational roles (if hiring remit assigned).
  • Clean compliance and audit readiness for live programmes.

Working conditions

Fast-paced, high-pressure national programme environment. The role will require flexibility (variable hours and occasional travel) and direct hands-on involvement during critical operational phases.

Why ICEYE Germany

  • Exposure to sovereign-critical programmes (SPOCK / Bundeswehr / Rheinmetall).
  • Direct engagement with government and strategic partners.
  • Opportunity to establish and scale operational excellence for a strategic national office.
