Job Description
Inkitt is building the Operating System for Storytellers, standing at the forefront of technology and entertainment.
Leveraging AI and predictive algorithms, Inkitt discovers unknown stories and turns them into blockbuster hits, producing a new $1M ebook every 7 days and selling directly to consumers through its Inkitt Galatea app. Bestsellers are then translated onto the screen through Inkitt CandyJar, the #1 US-based microdrama platform with billions of episodes streamed to date, and Inkitt Ironblood, the world’s first streaming app for superhero, sci-fi and action stories.
Inkitt has become the 11th most bestseller-generating publisher in the world, boasting a 40x higher hit-rate than traditional publishers.
Backed by some of the top VC’s such as: Khosla, Kleiner Perkins, and NEA Ventures, our recent expansion into Ironblood, the first AI Native streaming platform for action and adventure, is only the beginning of our journey to becoming the next-gen entertainment powerhouse.
The Role:
You’ll ghostwrite full-length romance novels and series installments for books in Galatea. Your basic goal is to create really good stories. You’ll immerse yourself in a series, pitch the next books, and then develop the books themselves. This is a highly creative role for people who love stories, who are obsessed with plotting, and who are excited about owning the full pipeline of story generation, from ideation and iteration to execution.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the process of running multiple books in a series.
- Read books, ideate story concepts, pitch those concepts, iterate on them, and then write new books based on those.
- Collaborate with our authors and in-house agentic LLM tools in the process of story development.
- Maintain continuity and consistency across series and hit delivery milestones at regular cadence.
You’ll Be A Great Fit If You:
- Love romance and read it a lot. You know your tropes (enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, second chance, rivals, shifters, billionaires, dark romance) and why they work
- Have written long-form fiction: published, self-published/KU, web serials, fanfic with a following, or ghostwriting credits all count
- Understand pacing, chapter hooks and cliffhangers, and write for readers rather than for prizes
- Are excited to collaborate with AI as part of your creative process, or already do
- Can match a tone or house style and take editorial feedback without ego
- Write clean, native-level English and meet deadlines without being chased
Nice To Have:
- Experience with serialized or episodic fiction (Wattpad, Radish, Kindle Vella, webnovels and similar)
- Experience publishing your own book-length work.
- Range across sub-genres and heat levels
- Curiosity about what readers actually do (where they stop reading, what they comment on)
Who We Are Looking For:
- Autonomous
- Bring solutions instead of problems
- Data driven
- Quick to action
- A high functioning workaholic
- Looking for exponential career growth
- Have lots of fun building a generational AI x Entertainment company
What We’ll Offer:
- 401k plan, designed to help you save for the future
- Health benefits tailored to your needs, including medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Professional coaching for everyone
- Team-building events, including our annual company wide trip
- Unlimited access to our Galatea app and CandyJarTV app
- Unlimited budget for self-development books
- Charity donation of your choice at your one year anniversary
- Free lunch in office everyday
- Class Pass membership for US based employee and gym access for Berlin employees
- Dog friendly offices
$20 - $35 an hour
