The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Prague. In this role, you will maintain, operate, and incrementally improve our established Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes/OpenShift architecture. You will ensure the reliability and continuous optimization of our GitOps delivery practices (ArgoCD) and GitHub-based automation.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Cloud Platform Engineer: Build and support resilient, secure, and scalable enterprise-grade infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• GitOps & Delivery Automation: Build and standardize declarative GitOps workflows using ArgoCD and robust, secure CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions.
• Kubernetes & Container Orchestration: Manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters, ensuring optimal performance, service mesh reliability, and automated lifecycle management. Deliver deployment to a production OpenShift cluster and provide support.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Treat everything as code - author and maintain modular, reproducible infrastructure and configuration using Terraform and modern configuration management.
• High Availability & Zero Downtime: Ensure maximum resilience, fault tolerance, multi-zone/multi-region disaster recovery, and continuous delivery for ²⁴⁄₇ financial risk systems.
• Observability & Reliability: support monitoring topics (metrics, logs, traces) using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and GCP Cloud Operations.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with developers, platform teams, architects, and security specialists

Your Profile & Qualifications:

• Cloud Engineering (GCP): Deep, hands-on architectural and operational expertise across the GCP ecosystem (IAM, VPC, Compute Engine, GKE, Secret Manager etc.) backed by multiple years of production experience.
• GitOps & CI/CD: Proven track record implementing declarative GitOps pipelines with ArgoCD and building scalable, secure delivery workflows using GitHub Actions.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Strong production experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred), container runtimes, Helm, Kustomize, and container security.
• Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform in collaborative enterprise environments.
• Advanced AI Competency: Strong understanding and active adoption of modern AI/GenAI technologies.
• System Internals & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Linux fundamentals, systems engineering, and automation scripting (Python, Bash, or Go).
• Reliability Mindset: Demonstrated experience architecting and operating mission-critical systems with strict SLAs, low latency, and zero-downtime requirements.

Desirable / Nice to Have:

• Relevant GCP certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with Service Mesh architecture (Istio / Anthos Service Mesh) and zero-trust security models.
• Familiarity with modern observability frameworks, ideally with Grafana Cloud.
• Prior exposure to financial market infrastructure, trading/clearing platforms, or quantitative risk management systems.
