We are seeking an experienced EHR Systems Manager (PointClickCare) to take ownership of the PointClickCare (PCC) platform across a growing multi-facility healthcare organisation. This is a senior, hands-on systems leadership role, responsible for optimisation, configuration, integrations, training oversight, and EHR-driven operational outcomes. While this role does not manage a large team, it carries full platform ownership and executive-level accountability.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (4:00 PM – 01:00 AM South African time – subject to daylight savings).
- Public Holidays: This role requires working on both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation for SA public holidays in accordance with the BCEA).
- Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
- Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
- Work Environment: Fully remote.
Job Responsibilities (not limited to):
EHR Ownership & Strategy
- Act as the primary PointClickCare subject matter expert across all facilities
- Own system performance, optimisation, configuration, and usability
- Translate clinical, operational, and compliance requirements into effective EHR solutions
- Partner with executive leadership on EHR strategy, scalability, and roadmap planning
System Optimisation & Configuration
- Configure and maintain PCC templates, workflows, permissions, order sets, and user roles
- Optimise documentation to support PDPM, MDS, Quality Measures, and reimbursement accuracy
- Identify inefficiencies and implement system improvements proactively
- Resolve system issues, data integrity problems, and workflow gaps
Projects & Implementations
- Lead PCC implementations, upgrades, integrations, and new-facility onboarding
- Manage multiple concurrent EHR initiatives, timelines, and priorities
- Coordinate data clean-up, standardisation, and governance initiatives
- Act as primary liaison with PointClickCare and third-party vendors
Training, Enablement & Support
- Oversee EHR onboarding and ongoing training for clinical and administrative users
- Develop and maintain EHR policies, SOPs, and best-practice documentation
- Serve as escalation point for complex system and workflow issues
Compliance & Security
Ensure EHR usage aligns with CMS, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements
Support audits, surveys, and compliance investigations
Maintain role-based access controls and data security standards
Advanced, hands-on PointClickCare experience (essential)
3–5+ years in EHR / EMR systems management or leadership
Experience in SNF / LTC / ALF healthcare environments
Proven experience leading EHR implementations or multi-facility optimisation
Strong stakeholder communication and project ownership capability
Advantageous / Bonus Requirements (Not essential)
- Clinical background (RN, LPN, CNA, or similar)
- Experience with PDPM, MDS, Quality Measures
- Integration experience (billing, pharmacy, therapy platforms)
- Project management experience or certification
