THE OPPORTUNITY
CONTEXT
We are looking for a senior attorney for our office in Massy who will be part of a global legal team.
ROLE:
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, quick-thinking, and pragmatic attorney to join and help lead our growing EMEA legal team. This individual will work cross-functionally and with a team of lawyers responsible for the negotiation, execution, and all requisite legal support for commercial deals with Ivalua’s customers and partners. This is an individual contributor role reporting to our Sr. Director/Head of Legal EMEA. This is a hybrid position working 3 days per week in our offices in Massy/Paris.
WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US
- Co-lead, negotiate and draft complex SaaS (Cloud) agreements, partner agreements professional services contracts with public sector and enterprise customers in EMEA and globally;
- Advice on a variety of technology and commercial agreements, including terms governing Ivalua’s e-procurement solution, implementation services agreements, reseller relationships, professional services and other technology agreements;
- Work closely with internal clients across the business, including sales, information security, privacy, finance and professional services, to provide legal support, proactively identify issues, share potential concerns, and craft solutions in supporting the commercialization of our industry-leading products and services;
- Provide legal support for the company’s privacy, data, and security initiatives as they relate to technology and commercial agreements;
- Counsel internal clients with respect to contract compliance and governance matters, serve as a resource to Ivalua’s customer success, customer support, finance and other organizations with respect to ongoing contract and legal matters.
YOUR PROFILE
Skills and Experience
If you have the below experience and strengths this role could be for you
- Qualified to practice law in France and/or another EU jurisdiction
- Minimum 6-7 years of experience practicing in an in-house legal department and/or top law firm focusing on Technology/IT related negotiations and transactions in Europe, especially in Germany and France
- Prior Software and/or SaaS experience preferred. Other useful areas of experience include security, data/privacy, and intellectual property
- Works well independently and with a highly collaborative team, process driven, and with proven ability to multi-task and set priorities cross-functionally
- Self-motivated, nimble and able to learn quickly, strong work ethic
- Effective and business-oriented written and verbal communication skills
- German fluency and German/French fully bilingual a major plus.
- Business-oriented and creative problem solver; excellent business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while also thinking strategically and providing sound, practical advice under tight deadlines and when presented novel scenarios
- Exhibits leadership qualities in being a team player, yet comfortable making decisions and interacting with customers and colleagues at all levels (from field to Exec. level)
- Comfortable stepping out of his/her comfort zone and energized by working in a fast-paced environment.
