Let’s start with the role
The Tax Manager – Argentina will be a key leader within the Group Tax Team, responsible for end-to-end tax management of Kaizen’s Argentine operations. This includes full ownership of direct and indirect tax compliance, tax accounting, audits, tax risk management, and tax advisory support, with a strong focus on regulated gaming and digital activities.
The role requires deep technical expertise in the Argentine tax system, strong judgment when dealing with tax authorities, and the ability to lead, review, and challenge tax positions. The Tax Manager will act as the primary tax business partner for Argentina, ensuring alignment with Group and LATAM tax policies.
The role will initially report to the Group Tax Director, with a dotted line to the Latam Tax Senior Manager, and is expected to progressively expand in scope to support broader LATAM Tax Initiatives.
As a Tax Manager, you will:
Tax Compliance Leadership
Own and oversee the complete tax compliance framework for Argentinian entities.
Ensure the timely and accurate filing of Corporate Income Tax (including inflation adjustment), VAT, Turnover Tax (Convenio Multilateral), withholding taxes, and gaming-related taxes.
Review and approve VAT Sales and Purchase Books and statutory filings.
Tax Accounting, Reporting & Forecasting
- Lead current tax calculations, tax provisions, and effective tax rate analysis.
- Review annual and interim tax reconciliations.
- Partner with Finance and FP&A on cash tax forecasts and budgeting.
Tax Audits & Authority Management
- Act as the main point of contact with AFIP and provincial tax authorities.
- Lead tax audits, define defense strategies, and manage audit negotiations.
- Oversee penalties, fines, voluntary disclosures, and installment plans.
Transfer Pricing & Cross-Border Tax
Own the tax review of intercompany and cross-border transactions.
Ensure correct withholding tax treatment and treaty application.
Coordinate and review transfer pricing documentation.
Tax Risk, Advisory & Governance
Identify and manage tax risks and uncertain tax positions.
Define tax governance standards and internal controls.
Monitor legislative changes and advise on their business impacts.
Team, Process & LATAM Collaboration
Act as a technical mentor and reviewer for the local tax team and advisors.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
Support LATAM tax projects and tax due diligence activities.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Law; postgraduate tax specialization strongly preferred.
- 9+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally combining Big 4 and in-house multinational roles.
- Advanced knowledge of the Argentine tax system (CIT, VAT, Turnover Tax, WHT).
- Proven experience leading tax audits and managing tax authorities.
- Strong transfer pricing and cross-border tax expertise.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment on complex tax matters.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience in gaming, betting, digital, or regulated industries is a strong advantage.
- LATAM or broader regional tax exposure is a plus.
