We are conducting this search on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding and highly acclaimed independent creative agency with an international reach. This represents an exceptional chance to join at a senior leadership level — contributing to high-profile global automotive campaigns that intersect with entertainment, culture, and some of the world’s most recognized talent.
Our client operates through a distributed, remote-first model with teams across the US, Latin America, and Europe, and a European footprint that is growing quickly. As Account Director, you will serve as the strategic backbone of the Italian office — acting as the primary relationship holder for European clients, leading local operations day to day, and playing a central role in expanding the agency’s regional business.
What You’ll Do
Lead the entire campaign journey — from strategic planning and creative development through to production and final handoff
Build and nurture senior-level client partnerships across several European automotive accounts, acting as the main point of trust and collaboration
Oversee financial and commercial workflows with client procurement teams, including the preparation, negotiation, and sign-off of all relevant documentation
Function as the operational lead of the Milan office, setting priorities and ensuring smooth coordination with the wider global team
Convert client briefs and objectives into well-defined scopes, timelines, and executable plans for internal creative, production, and social teams
Proactively seek out and cultivate new business opportunities, drawing on your professional network to drive agency revenue growth
Manage coordination with international market teams, ensuring timely delivery of assets and appropriate support
Serve as a cultural and professional link between the European operation and US-based leadership
Align cross-functional internal teams to deliver all outputs on time and at the highest quality
Oversee website management, brand identity initiatives, and social media efforts as part of a holistic, integrated client service
Native-level Italian (spoken and written) alongside strong professional English — both are non-negotiable
A track record of leading integrated campaigns from start to finish, coordinating across creative, production, and media functions
Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-market international accounts with senior stakeholders on the client side
Confirmed experience as an Account Director (or equivalent) within a creative advertising agency — this is essential
Willingness to engage as a Partita IVA contractor, which is our client’s standard model for Italy-based professionals
Thrives with significant autonomy in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
Italy-based, or open to relocating — with availability for face-to-face client meetings in Turin as required
Preferred Qualifications
Existing relationships or professional network in Italy or across Europe that could fuel new business efforts
Background in or genuine enthusiasm for global, multicultural marketing
Previous experience at a larger agency, with a successful transition into a smaller, more agile environment
Conversational or working-level Spanish
Exposure to the automotive industry (valued but not essential)
Annual Compensation: €70,000 – €75,000 base
Performance Bonuses: Incentives linked to new business wins and growth of the Italian operation
Time Off: Unlimited paid leave
Work Setup: Fully remote, flexible, and results-oriented
