Job Description
About the Opportunity
Our client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed platform that is consolidating and scaling a portfolio of professional services firms across the eastern United States. With a corporate hub in the Southeast and studio locations spanning New York, the Midwest, and Florida — with more on the way — the organization is in aggressive growth mode.
As acquisitions accelerate, the need for disciplined, consistent operational leadership across studio locations has become a top priority. This is a newly created, platform-level role with direct executive visibility.
They need an operationally sharp leader who can build performance culture, hold teams accountable, and drive results across a multi-site professional services environment.
The Role
The Director of Operations serves as the connective tissue between back-office leadership and individual studio teams across the platform. Think of this as a high-impact regional operations leader overseeing four to six divisions — someone who brings structure, accountability, and clarity to a founder-led, fast-moving organization.
This person will be responsible for ensuring every studio operates to platform standards, hits key performance targets, and integrates smoothly into the broader organizational system.
What You’ll Do
- Hold studio leadership teams accountable to the platform’s core performance metrics: trailing 90-day pipeline, backlog, and projected 3-month Net Service Revenue (NSR)
- Enforce $0 booking variance through accurate, timely data entry across CRM (HubSpot) and internal systems
- Attend and audit studio sales and production meetings to ensure meeting formats and data capture standards are met
- Conduct bi-weekly one-on-ones with Studio Leadership and Studio Integrators
- Monitor studio financial performance and adherence to approved annual budgets
- Ensure quarterly Professional Development Plans (PDPs) are completed on time for all required team members
- Drive annual budget submissions by the January 10th platform deadline
- Serve as a two-way conduit between studio leaders and back-office leadership — gathering field insights and communicating platform expectations
- Educate and support studio teams on the proper use of platform technology, systems, and people processes
- Build trust with studio leaders while holding firm to platform standards and expectations
Location & Travel
This role is hybrid role within one of the following States: Lafayette, LA; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA.
Approximately 10% travel expected for studio visits and leadership alignment.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Multi-site operational leadership experience — you’ve managed across locations or divisions, not just a single team
- Strong financial fluency: pipeline, backlog, forecasting, and budget management
- CRM/systems experience and comfort holding others accountable to data standards
- Executive-level communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a PE-backed or multi-unit platform environment
- Background in professional services (architecture, consulting, AEC, engineering, staffing, or similar)
- Experience working with founder-led or entrepreneurially-driven teams
What We’re Looking For
The Right Fit: You’re structured but relational. Calm under pressure. You lead through systems and consistency, not chaos and heroics. You know how to earn trust with operators while still holding the line on standards. You’re metrics-fluent and comfortable presenting performance data to senior leadership.
Base Salary: $140,000 – $180,000 (commensurate with experience)
Bonus: performance bonus tied to metric attainment, booking variance, and budget adherence
Benefits: 401(k), healthcare, competitive PTO and paid holidays
