Job Description

Our client is appointing a Head of Logistics to lead and shape the logistics function at a strategic level within a UK operation. This senior appointment will take ownership of transport, warehousing, distribution, and logistics planning, with a clear focus on service excellence, cost control, compliance, and long-term operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the organisation’s logistics strategy.

  • Lead transport, warehousing, distribution, and logistics planning operations.

  • Manage budgets, service levels, and logistics performance metrics.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop logistics management teams.

  • Ensure compliance with UK transport, safety, and operational regulations.

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders.

  • Support wider business strategy and operational planning.

  • Oversee network optimisation and capacity planning.

  • Drive continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.

  • Significant senior-level experience in logistics or supply chain leadership.

  • Strong understanding of transport, warehousing, and distribution operations.

  • Proven leadership and change management experience.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to operate both strategically and operationally.

  • Experience in KPI management, budgeting, and service improvement.

  • Relevant logistics, supply chain, or management qualification is desirable.

  • Competitive salary: £80,000 - £120,000 per annum
