Key about your role
As a Junior Engineer for Lifetime, you will be a member in our Technical Application Management team (TAM), you help safeguard the availability, performance and security for Plexus customers in the Life & Pension domain.
Together with experienced colleagues, you:
Monitor the Plexus platform and act on alerts and incidents (for example disk space issues, high CPU usage or Tomcat down situations).
Contribute to daily operations: handling service requests and standard changes, following agreed ITIL processes.
Support the provisioning and configuration of new customer environments, including setting up application components and validating that they are ready for use.
Assist in user management.
Help with webservice management: whitelisting access, configuring endpoints and provisioning webservices for customers on IIS.
Participate in patching and security updates for the technology stack (Windows Server, Oracle, SQL Server, Tomcat and related components), following runbooks and under guidance from senior engineers.
Learn to manage client and server certificates for the platform, including renewals and deployments.
Support external audits, penetration tests and failover tests by preparing evidence, executing standard test steps and documenting results.
Keep runbooks and documentation up to date so we can work in a standardized and auditable way.
You will grow into taking more ownership of incidents and changes, and after a proper onboarding and training period you will be part of the standby/on-call rotation.

Thanks to the growing number of clients which make use of our SaaS services, the department is becoming increasingly important within Keylane. To realize our ambitions, we are now looking for a new eager colleague who wants to function as a jack of all trades within our Cloud department.
- You are a starting Technical Application Engineer, and you are at your best when no issues are shown in the ticketing system (and so you can go for another coffee with your colleagues). As a member of an experienced team, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of some of Keylane’s Key-applications and, in time, will take part in our rotating stand-by schedule. Besides the daily maintenance and management of the Cloud platform you will also participate in improvement projects.
Within your role you will work with some of the following application servers and databases; Apache Tomcat on Linux application servers in combination with Microsoft SQL on Windows Database servers. You will also work with containerized platforms such as Kubernetes in combination with GitLab and ArgoCD for deployments. Of course, the monitoring of the systems and the analyzing of issues, which might have happened during the night, is nothing new for you. Also, delivering, installing and maintaining many applications doesn’t make you sweat. Besides this you’ll support the internal Delivery teams through 1st line support and resolving ad hoc problems is a big part of this.

Have a relevant education in Computer Science and ready to kick-start your career

Have experience working with, and knowledge of Linux and/or Windows

A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and reference check are part of the application process. All employees follow information security training and have basic information security responsibilities.
A monthly gross salary between € 3.000 and € 4.000 based on 40 hours per week.
8% holiday allowance of your total gross salary.

Flexibility in working environment. As part of a hybrid working team, you will work partly from home and partly from the office. If you work in the office, a free lunch is waiting for you every day. The possibility of working remotely from abroad for up to 2 months per year.
