As a Business Controller, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of our global cost centres. You will bridge the gap between consolidated group reporting and operational reality, ensuring accuracy in our numbers while supporting the business through insightful variance analysis and robust audit management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Budgeting & Planning: Actively assist in the preparation and consolidation of annual operating budgets; work with cost centre owners to ensure inputs are accurate and aligned with strategic goals.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly reporting for multiple cost centres and review consolidated group figures to ensure alignment with forecast/budget expectations.
- Variance Management: Proactively liaise with global teams to identify, analyse, and document reasons for budget and forecast variances.
- Forecasting Support: Assist in the monthly refinement of financial forecasts to reflect real-time business changes.
- Intercompany Management: Oversee the monthly recharge process for centrally purchased items, ensuring accurate distribution across global subsidiary entities.
- Balance Sheet Integrity: Conduct rigorous reviews of balance sheet accounts, specifically prepayments and fixed assets, to ensure correct IFRS treatment.
- Business Transformation: Partner with IT and Transformation teams on strategic projects to improve financial systems and processes.
Skills & Experience Required
- ACA Qualified Accountant with 3 years + experience, in a relevant / similar role
- Experience with consolidations
- Big 4 audit background, with global multi-national client audit experience
- Strong IFRS / Technical knowledge
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to multitask and manage own workload in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with multiple and remote teams
- Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to work within team deadlines
- Strong communication and team skills
- Strong excel and powerpoint skills
