We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a large, strategic lending project focused on delivering an uplift to our home loan and lending capability. You will join the Lending team within the Experience Org and be dedicated to a major transformation and migration program, working closely with product, technology, operations and risk stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality customer, broker and team member outcomes.
This is a 12-month max-term contract, with the option to extend based on project needs and performance.
Job Description
This is a hands-on role, focused on requirements, process design, data and operating model change in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead end-to-end business analysis for complex lending initiatives, from discovery through to implementation and review.
- Work across residential mortgage lending, platform and system change, core banking and servicing, including end-to-end mortgage operations.
- Support transformation and migration activities, including data and process migration across platforms and providers.
- Partner with technology, operations, credit, risk and compliance to deliver scalable, compliant solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements
- Lead discovery, stakeholder workshops and define clear business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Translate complex needs into actionable artefacts for engineering, operations and vendors.
Process & Journey Design
- Map current and future-state processes across origination, servicing and collections.
- Identify opportunities for simplification, automation and improved customer/broker experience.
- Ensure alignment with credit policy, regulatory obligations and risk controls.
Transformation & Migration
- Support platform and operating model changes, including system migrations.
- Contribute to data mapping, migration rules, reconciliation and cutover planning.
Delivery & Implementation
- Work within cross-functional teams to prioritise backlogs and support delivery.
- Support UAT, defect triage, test planning and readiness activities.
- Track and communicate progress, risks and key milestones.
Risk, Compliance & Credit
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g. NCCP, ASIC) and internal policies.
- Embed credit rules, decisioning criteria and controls into processes and systems.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships across business, technology and external partners.
- Communicate complex topics clearly and support governance forums with concise insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, with significant exposure to home loans / residential mortgage lending.
- Demonstrated experience working on large transformation and/or migration programs, ideally involving core banking or lending platforms.
- Hands-on experience with mortgage operations (e.g. settlements, servicing, collections, discharges, variations).
- Experience working with or alongside risk, compliance and/or credit underwriting teams in a regulated lending environment.
- Background in core banking systems, loan origination / servicing platforms or similar enterprise platforms is highly regarded.
- Experience working in Agile or Hybrid delivery environments with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in transformation programs involving third-party servicers or outsourced operations.
- Exposure to APRA/ASIC regulatory change programs or risk transformation in a lending context.
- Relevant qualifications in business, finance, information systems or related discipline
