About the role
The Assistant Clinical Manager (ACM) supports the Clinical Operations Manager in overseeing a distributed team of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a multi-state telehealth platform. This role ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across service lines including urgent care, weight management, men’s health, and women’s health in all 50 states plus DC. The ACM serves as both a clinical leader and operational partner, providing mentorship, performance oversight, and quality assurance while helping scale telehealth services safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Oversight:
- Supervise and support a team of Nurse Practitioners delivering telehealth care across multiple specialties
- Provide real-time clinical guidance and escalation support for complex patient cases
- Ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines and company clinical protocols
- Promote a culture of patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Team Management & Development:
- Assist in onboarding, training, and ongoing education of NPs
- Conduct performance evaluations, chart reviews, and competency assessments
- Mentor clinicians to improve clinical decision-making, documentation, and patient experience
- Address performance concerns and support corrective action plans
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Perform routine chart audits for quality, compliance, and documentation accuracy
- Ensure compliance with state-specific regulations, licensure requirements, and telehealth laws across all jurisdictions
- Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to maintain regulatory readiness
- Support accreditation and audit processes as needed
Operational Excellence:
- Partner with operations to optimize provider scheduling, coverage, and patient flow
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and productivity
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Support scaling initiatives and new service line rollouts
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product, engineering, pharmacy, and customer support teams
- Provide clinical input into telehealth platform improvements and protocols
- Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and program development
Scope of Care
- Urgent Care: Acute, low-to-moderate complexity conditions
- Weight Management: Medical weight loss, medication management, lifestyle counseling
- Men’s Health: Hormonal therapy, sexual health, preventative care
- Women’s Health: Reproductive health, hormonal care, preventative services
Basic Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted NP license in at least one U.S. state (multi-state licensure preferred)
- National board certification (e.g., FNP, AGNP)
- 3+ years of clinical experience, including telehealth experience
- 1+ year in a leadership, supervisory, or lead clinician role
- Strong knowledge of telehealth regulations across multiple states
- Experience in at least one of the core service lines (urgent care, weight management, men’s or women’s health)
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensure in multiple states (or willingness to obtain)
Experience managing distributed/remote clinical teams
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and telehealth platforms
Background in quality assurance, chart auditing, or clinical operations
DEA/CDS license
Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making
Leadership and team development experience
Regulatory and compliance awareness
Excels in communication and collaboration
Data-driven and performance management background
Adaptability in a fast-paced, virtual care environment
Salary: $165-$170k + $10,000 annual target bonus
