To help support our fast-growing, global company and business, we are now looking for a RENEWALS MANAGER with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding renewal and retention targets to join our EMEA team.
This team is based in Tampere, Finland and this is a hybrid role for our office in Tampere, Finland.
The Renewals Manager is responsible for all renewals within the assigned territory or accounts assigned. As a Renewals Manager, your key duties are to build renewal quotes according to the contract terms and identify possible up-sell opportunities. The Renewals Manager’s key goal is to ensure that the renewal rates are at industry’s best level, and our churn rate is also at industry’s best level within your assigned territory or assigned accounts. In this role you will be contacting customers and partners actively via phone and email and working in close co-operation with other M-Files departments such as Customer Success, Direct and Partner Sales.
This role will specifically work with larger renewals (greater than €50,000). The territory will include renewals with direct and partner customers with a weighting towards more direct.
Key requirements and competences:
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding renewal and retention targets.
Highly organized, detail- and process-oriented working style with the ability to manage a large book of business, prioritize effectively, and plan daily activities with discipline.
Proactive self-starter who can work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team, consistently setting goals and driving toward success.
Exceptional written, verbal, and negotiation communication skills, with a focus on clarity, confidence, and customer empathy.
Strong team mindset with the ability to share best practices, mentor junior team members, and contribute to process improvements.
Fluency in Finnish and English—both verbal and written—is required.
- Knowledge of French or German is an advantage and would be leveraged.
Direct experience with M-Files or other Enterprise Content Management / Document Management & Workflow solutions is a plus.
Role-Based Requirements:
Sales-oriented mindset with a proven ability to manage complex renewal cycles, including multi-year agreements, pricing scenarios, contract negotiations, and closing motions.
Ability to independently:
- Interpret and synthesize usage data, customer health indicators, contracts, account history, and commercial trends using strong analytical skills.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Sales to design and manage an effective renewal strategy.
- Develop proposal options and presentations for quoting, internal review, and direct delivery to customers.
- Negotiate and close renewals successfully.
- Defend value, overcome reduction attempts, and drive high retention rates.
Ability to engage management for account and deal reviews when needed, QBR’s and handle escalations or challenging situations with professionalism and composure.
Strong understanding of SaaS subscription models, ARR/MRR principles, license structures, and renewal forecasting.
Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Finance to execute renewal strategies.
Experience using CRM and subscription management platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Gainsight, Power BI) with desired experience with tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gong and Jira.
High degree of commercial acumen, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities.
BA/BS degree preferred, or equivalent demonstrated experience as a renewal representative.
- Typically requires 3–5 years of direct customer-facing commercial experience in software renewals, account management, or customer success.
