Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and government regulations.
The role includes preparing management reports and budgets, approving vendor payments, monitoring key accounts such as prepayments and accruals, and managing payroll processes. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will improve systems and procedures, maintain confidentiality, and provide financial reports and analysis to support the Managing Directors and the Global Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall, in charge of managing and overseeing the daily task of the accounting department and staff.
- Maintaining accurate and complete financial records and participating in audits and reconciliations, as needed.
- Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles and ensuring that all are align with Philippine Financial reporting Standards (PFRS) and government legislation.
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Establish and maintain accounting and corporate permanent files and records to document transactions.
- Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and producing monthly management reports (MR) for Managing Directors’ final review and submitting to the Global Office.
- Assist and prepare the annual budget of the company.
- Verify and approve request payment to vendors, through signing checks and/or online banking facilities.
- Check and sign EWT for vendors.
- In-charge of monitoring, reviewing, and adjusting the prepayment, depreciation, and accrual accounts.
- Provide sales overheads and review calculation of sales commission.
- Verify and provide monthly reports to AIRO i.e. AR aging, Bank reconciliation, depreciation schedule, Trial balance with remarks
- In charge of checking and finalizing bi-monthly payroll and ensuring company comply with the government regulations such as SSS, HDMF, PHIC and withholding taxes.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Managing Director.
Must-have Skills / Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in business studies/administration / management, Finance/Accountancy/banking, or equivalent
- At least 5 years (s) of Working experience in the related field is required for this position
- Must be a CPA
- Preferably Assistant Manager/Manager specialized in Finance – General/Cost Accounting or equivalent
- Familiar with Local Tax Regulation
- Fluent in local language as well as English, both verbally and in writing
- Good analytical and interpersonal skills, detail-minded, and able to meet tight deadlines
- Driven and efficient individual with a focused way of working
- Self-motivated; independent; responsible; diligent; able to meet required deadline
- Able to take initiative and identify overall best solutions away
Job Type: Full-Time Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (inclusive of 1-hour break)
Can be a Hybrid Setup (3 days on-site and 2 days’ work from home)
